Chapter Twelve

I strained against Reaper’s crushing weight, feeling my life draining. Tuxedo Vamp wasn’t letting up, draining me from the bite at my neck. Deep down, I knew my screams wouldn't bring help but I couldn't stop them. My throat was raw and my muscles cramped as I tried to twist and roll and get away.

Wiggling, I yanked one hand free from Reaper and jammed my palm against the wood piece I’d lodged in Reaper’s shoulder earlier. He stopped pulverizing my pelvis and howled with pain.

I blinked as dizziness washed over me. Fuck, I was losing too much blood. I punched Reaper’s shoulder and his face. My hits grew weaker and weaker. When I raised my arm to smack him again, my arm shook so hard that my punch was a glancing blow.

The vamp at neck pulled away. “Now, Reaper. You can enjoy her fully too.”

At his words, the giant unzipped his pants and fumbled for mine. Hell no, I wasn’t letting this happen. Not now, not ever.

As he shifted to undo his pants, I got another hand free and part of my torso. But my legs were still pinned underneath his. Against the darkness pressing along the edge of my vision, I retrieved another of my wood daggers.

Neither vamp appeared concerned nor could I blame them as I was shaking so bad even my teeth chattered. I grasped the hilt with both hands. I gathered all of my strength and plunged the dagger into Reaper’s eye.

He howled, falling to the side. His hoarse screams rang in my ears. If I hadn't lost so much blood, I'd have been able to stick it in deeper and reach his brain. He'd have been temporarily immobile until someone removed the wood or staked him in the heart.

“Stupid bitch,” Tuxedo Vamp snarled.

Darkness flooded over me and my arms and legs were too heavy to lift. My lungs struggled to draw in air. Least I could do was take one of these shit heads with me. I reached into one of my hidden pockets for one of my knives, the sharp metal slicing my palm.

“I'll make you pay for hurting Reaper.” The vamp balled up his fists.

I gave the vamp the biggest smile I could muster and said, “Bring it.”

With a whoosh, Tuxedo Vamp was on top of me, his momentum allowing the knife in my hand, hidden under my jacket, to sink into his chest without me having to use all my strength. He huffed as the blade sunk into his heart and he died his second death.

Reaper wailed. I had no more strength left. Opening my eyes took a tremendous amount of effort. My body trembled. Too bad I couldn't kill more vampires but taking out Tuxedo Vamp and Reaper would have to do.

“You're next,” I promised. My hand ached where I sliced it across the palm but I managed to dislodge my last option: a holy water and silver grenade that would kill any vamp within twenty feet. All I had to do was yank the pin out.
